our silly girl

Harper has been very silly lately when we feed her. You’ll just have to see for yourself how ridiculously cute she is…

And here is a little smiling and giggling…

Oh, she is just so dang cute. I can not get enough of this girl!

ENJOY!

We Heart Visitors.

Last weekend our friends Thayne and MaryAnne came to visit with their 2 kiddos {no…they didn’t come all the way out to the ranch. we met up at my in-law’s place in “civilization”. the ranch roads aren’t the friendliest this time of year). It was SO fun to visit with them for a couple hours and catch up on life.

And Harper made a cute new friend:

I’m not gonna lie, it stinks that all of you {our friends and family…and blog stalkers} live so far away. Do you all just want to move here? I can give you lots of reasons why it’s a great idea, if us being here isn’t convincing enough!

So here’s my plea:

COME VISIT US! We LOVE LOVE LOVE visitors. And we’d love to show you around.

Or better yet, why not just move in next door. We’ll share our beef and garden with you (when we have one, of course)…

Any takers?

C’mon!

press pause, please!

Do you ever wish you could just hit the pause button on your child? So maybe, just maybe, they would stop growing up for like 2.3 seconds. This girl will not slow down! One minute she’s rolling over like a crazy girl, next minute she’s sitting up on her own {not to mention, she’s started swimming to her toys a little}.

Don’t get me wrong, one of my absolute favorite things is watching Harper learn and grow. It’s so fun to see her figure out she can do something and then do it over and over and over. But I can hardly enjoy her new findings before she’s on to something else.

Seriously, though…can my next one come with a pause button, please?

Not. Joking.

PLEASE!!!

This girl may or may not have decided to smear rice cereal and bananas all over her face.

You decide.

family history…I am doing it

When my grandma passed away a couple of months ago, I was able to look through some of her journal/keepsakes while I was home for the funeral. I learned SO much that I never knew about her and her parents. In fact, I realized I knew absolutely nothing about my grandparents and great grandparents. I was always a little embarrassed when Ryan would know a ton about his family and I could list the names of my grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins and that’s about all I knew.

So…I took matters into my own hands.

Each week on Sunday or Monday, I email my parents and grandparents (as well as Ryan’s grandparents) a question or two about their family, past, etc. They email back when they have a minute during the week with their response. It is so fun to read about their lives - chores they had when growing up, what they used before electricity, about their parents and grandparents, etc. I can not tell you how much stinkin’ fun it is to read their answers and learn more about them. They always have the coolest stories and things to share. My ultimate goal is to compile all of their answers into a personal history document for each of them.

It’s such a simple and extremely fun way to do a little family history!

You should probably try it. It’s pretty much life changing.

Busted!

We finally caught one of those dirty rascals!

Lucky for us we caught this lil guy’s girlfriend the night after.

2 down; only A LOT more to go…

Home, Home on the Ranch

Here’s just a small glimpse of what the hubby {aka my sexy cowboy} has been up to lately:

And while daddy is out working hard, mommy and Harper just play in the truck and cheer him on:

Or poop our clothes. But only one of us is guilty of that:

Gotta love it!

Pretty in Pink

Have you noticed that everything Harper owns is PINK? Yup, we love pink around here.

Here’s a few recent pictures of Harper {and daddy and uncle josho}-

Uncle Josho came to visit for a couple days before he headed to the Great White North to work his butt off this summer. We were glad he made the trip to spend some time with us before he vanished for a while. We love you Josho!

ps – isn’t that smile adorable? {Harper’s, of course!} her whole face lights up! love it!
