Last Chance
In less than 12 hrs we’ll be getting our 20 week ultrasound. AH! That means you only have about 2.5 hrs left to get in on the fun and vote here on whether you think it’s a boy or girl! So if you haven’t done so yet, go do it! To all those who have voted so far – YOU ROCK! Thanks for playing along :)
I’ve started getting all nervous about the ultrasound lately. I mean, I’m still super excited, but what if we find out something is wrong??? I’m just keeping the faith and after tomorrow morning all will be known…
ps - team girl is winning but barely!

let’s be blatantly honest…
I’ll start!
Blog music is kind of annoying {no offense to anyone}. I more often than not mute my computer when I land on a blog with music. I used to have a long playlist, but I got rid of it after I realized I hated always having to mute it when I went on my own blog. Just the other day when I revamped my blog I added it again. And I only added 1 song. Yes, I still mute it almost every time I go on my blog to check for all those darling comments that you leave me! Now let me explain. When I was rearranging things on the blog, I kept thinking of the song ‘lucky’ and it seemed to fit the ambiance I was going for so perfectly. So I added it knowing I was taking a very annoying risk. Here’s the thing…do I leave it or delete it??? Obviously if I leave it I’ll add more songs. I’m not sure anyone can sanely handle the same song playing over and over {that is if anyone even hangs out here longer than a song’s length}.
So…let’s be blatantly honest here. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Do you mute it every time? Does it make you want to stab me in the eye? Or does it set the mood for your blog visit? Maybe you’re a weirdo and like the 1 song playlist?? Or has ‘lucky’ been driving you absolutely crazy?
Tell me what you think. Tell me everything! Just let it all hang out. I really honestly want to know.

Total Money Makeover Update
Do you remember this post from October? I briefly introduced you to The Total Money Makeover and I haven’t talked about it since. Well I’m here to tell you…
“WE’RE DEBT FREE!”
Wow! That felt good. Dave Ramsey always has people calling into his radio show sharing success stories and he has them yell “We’re Debt Free!”. We talk, eat, sleep, breathe and live The Total Money Makeover. Dave’s ideas may be simple and logical, but he has such a great simple plan of attack! We just wish we would have started when we were first married…
*Baby Step 1: $1000 to start an Emergency Fund – Done.
*Baby Step 2: Pay off debts – Done. The only debt we had was our cars {besides our mortgages}. So we sold them in November. That’s right, we decided we didn’t NEED 2 cars and we didn’t NEED our new car. So we got rid of them. It was so hard to get rid of our camry {we bought that car brand spankin’ new and loved it}. But we did it! We bought a used car – a 2003 toyota corolla, which we paid off in 6 months. We paid off approx. $18,000 of debt in 8 months!!! It feels oh so good. You should try it!
*Baby Step 3: Build your Emergency Fund (3-6 months of expenses) – Currently working on. Hoping to have this done in 6 months or less.
*Baby Step 4: Invest 15% of income into retirement funds
*Baby Step 5: Build college fund for children
*Baby Step 6: Pay off home mortgage
*Baby Step 7: Build wealth and give!
Yes, we’re only on Baby Step 3 but it usually takes people a couple years to get there. We did it in 8 months!!
So…what do we suggest?
1. Don’t use credit cards. If you do, pay them off every month. We’ve always lived by this motto!
2. Make a budget and stick to it. Dave Ramsey has great budgeting forms here that we use monthly.
3. Don’t go into debt for anything {except for MAYBE a house}. It’s our new goal. Pay cash/check for EVERYTHING including big ticket items, cars, etc. Debt isn’t worth it! If you want something, save up for it!
4. Don’t spend money you don’t need to. Make sacrifices. Be creative!
Check out Dave Ramsey’s site www.daveramsey.com or read his book The Total Money Makeover or listen to his radio show!
{Note: No, this is not a paid endorsement. I just love this and strongly believe that everyone should jump on board. So go try it. NOW. It’s seriously SO FUN!!!!! that’s not a joke}
lonely. i’m mrs. lonely.
First off, a big THANK YOU to all those who have voted so far! {I’ve noticed several of you have voted on the wonky poll on the sidebar…did anyone else notice it deciding to change your vote without getting your permission?} We still need 9 comments with your guesses for the victory dance to make it’s way to the blog. Keep the votes coming!
And sorry for the short blog hiatus! I was doing so well for a few days. It’s because Ryan was gone on a little sales trip. I always find myself turning to the blog when he leaves me. With that said, I bet you can tell when he came home and when he left again! Yes, he came home late saturday and left this afternoon until late saturday again. I HATE HATE HATE when he leaves because:
a. my house stays too clean
b. it’s too quiet
c. i stay up way too late
d. i don’t leave my bedroom {except to eat}
e. i eat too much junk food & not enough real food
f. and last, but definitely not least, i have no husband!!!!
Let’s just say it just downright SUCKS!
So here’s to a few days of loneliness…
see you in a few hours!

Team Boy vs Team Girl
One of the major milestones in my pregnancy that we’ve been anticipating is quickly creeping up on us. Only 10 more days and we find out if we’re having a boy or girl. WE CAN’T WAIT!
What do I think we’re having? I really have no clue! I have been so non-committal. When we first found out I was pregnant, I was so convinced it was a girl {even ryan was for a brief moment in time}. However, in the last couple months I keep having dreams of our baby and EVERYTIME baby bedke has a lil wee wee. So naturally I completely swapped teams and was majorly convinced it was a boy. Now I’m just confused because in the last week:
a. My friend was so convinced she was having a girl and just found out she’s having a boy. Hmmm…maybe I’m totally off my rocker and this is going to be the case with me as well.
b. I put a little poll on our side bar to vote for the gender and I voted boy. It stayed boy for like 10 min and then it strangely changed itself to girl. I tried to change my vote but it was still marked as boy just showing in the results as girl. I deleted the poll before anyone else had voted and made another one…and the same thing happened. SO WEIRD! Is my poll trying to tell me something??? So ya, now I just have no clue. I would be thrilled with either.
Ryan of course is completely team boy.
Anyway, enough about what we think, what do you think we’re having?? I created a poll on the sidebar and you can vote there if you’d like…but I think the thing is WONKY {since it’s changing my votes and all}!
This is what you need to do: Leave a comment. Tell us what you think.
IF we get 20 comments with your guesses AND we find out it’s a boy…RYAN WILL DO A VICTORY DANCE {yes, it will be captured on camera. and yes, it will be posted for your viewing pleasure.}
IF we get 20 comments with your guesses AND we find out it’s a girl…I WILL DO A VICTORY DANCE {not nearly as entertaining as ryan doing one…so i’m totally hoping it’s a boy!}
Voting will end July 19th @ 11:59pm so any comments after that don’t count toward the “20 total”. Also, you’re more than welcome to vote in the poll on the sidebar as well, but only comments will count.
Thanks for humoring us and playing!

Baby Belly
I have been faithfully taking profile pictures every Sunday. And yes, in the same clothes {I think it gives an accurate comparison}. Unfortunately, I don’t have any belly pics before 10 weeks. However, I didn’t think my belly was growing a whole lot until I compared these pictures.
Warning: Please look at the belly, NOT the face! {Ry made me laugh about something in the 18 week picture and it is not cute. Note to self: you look rather chubby when you smile/laugh that big…especially in photos}
Happy 4th!
We celebrated the 4th on the 5th with the following itinerary {after Ry got home from work, of course}:
1. Wear blue t-shirts to show our patriotism
2. Check out the the festival in downtown Carmel and marvel at how many girls with booty shorts can be in one place.
3. Go get some ice cream. Some very rich, creamy ice cream. And teach Jacquie how to play Chess…then laugh a lot because she sucks horribly and is clueless!
4. Scout out a spot to watch the fireworks.
5. Try to enjoy the fireworks while being attacked by TONS of mosquitoes.
6. Go home and wash the bug guts off your hands then lay in bed and talk about how amazing it is to spend time together and be married. Wish that you could do it everyday!!

Ryan’s Week!
Father’s day and Ryan’s birthday were a few days apart so we had a big week of celebrating all of Ryan’s awesomeness. For father’s day, I woke up early and made Ryan breakfast in bed. Yes, I served it to him on a cookie sheet. You have to improvise when you have very few of your things with you for the summer.
After church, we BBQ’s steaks and zucchini by the pool. We had a delicious dinner and lounged by the pool for the afternoon. It was so fun to just spend the day with Ryan and show him how much I appreciate him and all he does for our lil family.
Ry living the life. Can you spot his 3rd nipple?
On Ry’s actual birthday (June 23rd) we went out for sushi. It was so delish! Unfortunately for me {luckily for ryan} I forgot my camera. The next day, I made a special dinner for him and then invited some family and friends over to eat cake and hang out. Yes, there are 27 candles on that cake. AH!
I’m not going to get all mushy, but I sure am grateful to have such an amazingly strong, hardworking husband. He is definitely my better half and it was so fun to celebrate HIM for a week!
LOVE YOU BABE!
Bedke Family Reunion
Ryan’s aunt and uncle hosted a family reunion in Indiana at the beginning of June, which made it super convenient for us to attend. We were able to sneak away from work for a couple days and enjoy good company, a lot of yummy food and a lot of FUN! I was awful at taking pictures {unfortunately} but here are a few from our adventures.
Ryan and his lil bro Curtis went tubing together. I love their faces in this picture. Priceless!
When they got back on the boat I told them to show me how much fun they had. Looks like they had a blast!
Ry took me on the jet ski. He said he gave me a “gentle” ride since I’m prego and we didn’t want to shake up baby bedke too much.
On the boat with Addie (Ry’s sister) and Amber (Ry’s cousin) right before it started pouring rain on us.
We spent a day in Amish land and stopped at a flea market. Some of the boys thought they’d sport some Davey Crockett hats!
